Did This Actually Happen? I Shot There For A Few Days During The Cardinal Classic And Did Not Hear About This. Can Anyone Confirm? Kind Of Bad Taste To Bring Something Like This Up On A Trapshooting Forum For Anyone To Interpret Any Way They Wish.

Best check the dictionary for the definition of "plenty" since you seem to have issues with words and meanings. Last time I decked a guy with one punch he got knocked off his feet. No need to get upset oleolli. I have good intentions here for the good of the sport. Didn't hear me calling to close any place down. Plenty means the other shooters on the squad with the guy who turned around and told the scorer "I shot him," the guy that got shot squad on deck and onlookers. The ATA can ask for eye witness if it wants to investigate this incident, which it should for the good of the sport.

 

The ATA has nothing to do with investigations into incidents at participating gun clubs. Heck, some of 'em barely graduated from high school and certainly have little if any knowledge of law enforcement. Just look into the inner workings of the organization in the past and what was pushed under the rug. The local sheriff thoroughly investigated the incident and made a report. So, what good for the sport do you believe getting the ATA involved would accomplish? Enough said!

 

It has NOTHING to do with the "good of the sport". This guy just has a hardon for OH shooters and how great the Cardinal
Center is doing and is looking to throw any crap against the wall that he can. That is GREAT!

sparta sidney went away and I think he took sparta#2 with him. That garage gunsmith lasted about 3 days, IQ44 just lurks and doesn't have the balls to post, and now mikej or whoever he is calling himself, has come along to bless us with ALL his trap shooting wisdom and "the CC isn't as great as you all think and the OH shooters ruined the grand" mentality.

For as smart as this guy claims to be you would think he has some sort of degree from someplace prestigious, like a college in, oh I don't know, Guyana or someplace like that.

Oleollie, the Cardinal Classic is an ATA sanctioned event. You have to be smarter than what you stated here. I don't have the time to get into lengthy discussions to explain where I am coming from. I expect intelligent people like you to understand what I mean.

 

Just what exactly is stopping you from "reporting" this to the ATA ??????

It seems you assume no ATA officials attended this shoot .....

So tell everyone why you just choose to whine about it here .....

The ATA could exist on the daily fees collected by the clubs at the registered shoots, they might have to trim some fat and do away with some of the freebies and benefits (paid expenses) for the ED, EC, and some of the BOD, but it could be done (Reorg) ... This is old news, one problem is many of the clubs that used to host registered shoots do not do it any more and have turned to recreational shooting (cheap practice ) and or fun and games, club shoots etc ... If the clubs hosting the bigger shoots eliminated the expense of paying the ATA for their involvement (ATA trophy's) and make it added money (non registered) they could possibly have as good or an even better turn out ... This almost happened one year at the Old Phoenix Club before it closed because the ATA wanted us to do a remodel on a building that was going to be torn down not far into the future, which was part of the charm of the place ... The ATA and grand are obviously not the attraction they once were based on attendance ... The reasons for this turn about is many thing have changed that did not sit right with some of the membership, the majority of that being location, additional travel etc ... The ATA exists because the clubs support them, not because the ATA supports the clubs ... Cardinal Center or any of the Clubs could have a Monthly money shoot and pack the house, the WSRC can't pack the house for what was once the biggest handicap event of the year (grand) , that has to tell people something ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

AGAIN, I answered your personal gain question many times! I am here because of my interest in trapshooting and I will not allow anyone to post lies about the Grand once I am still a member here. You may note for the majority of the year I don't post here. I am not looking for a hang out spot. I will ask my delegate when I see him about the shooting incident which I consider to be serious.

 

Duh, the ATA sanctions all ATA events. Heck, they couldn't even police target setting rules for years or keep members informed on many important items that needed discussion. Alright, I confess, many years ago at our ATA affiliated club a young shooter had an accidental discharge, pellets hit the traphouse, bounced back, one struck him in the leg and slightly imbedded itself. Now I know I should have notified the ATA target police immediately thanks to you. Let's not even discuss all the guns that blew up through the years with slight injuries where the ATA was never notified. So you're telling us we're supposed to fly a bunch of overweight ATA target police to OH, wine and dine 'em for a few days and have them question the Sheriff who wrote the report. Voted for Hillary too I see?

 

It is your duty to report this travesty. If you are not going to report this matter to the ATA, there is someone here who is going to report you for malfeasance and criminal neglect to your delegate in NY. You can also be charged with witness tampering and submitting a false accident report. Your delegate can surely attest to your character and your perceived mental condition. All eyes are on you. You can save the world, but you must act.

 

Had the person been killed even OSHA might have gotten involved! I know of one gun club that was threatened to be shut down because one bullet left the club and struck someone's home because of a careless shooter. What happens if the trap help decides to sue? Do you think he will be going after just the CC? He might want to but his lawyer will go after all parties that can be sued. Get it?

You seem to be hung up on "Lies about the grand and or ATA ", pray tell man point out what has been said that is in fact lies and we can research them and sort it all out for you ... You talk about defending the grand, and your interest in trapshooting like you are the only person who has or ever has had an interest or soft spot in their heart for trapshooting ... The facts remain we all have had that same interest, desire, and love for the sport at some time until things got changed and the membership was ignored as the ATA turned its back on the members ... You nit pick bull shit that does not even matter to avoid answering legitimate questions asked of you ... You do not read and or acknowledge that you have read articles posted to prove some of the statements you have made or been told by other who should know are not true (Think Illinois Budget) ... You run off like a run away train going no place because you are so intent on defending something that was dear to all of us at one time ... I read some of what you say and think, this has to be a kid trying to get attention that he is not getting elsewhere ...
Be SPECIFIC, point out all of the lies ... Tell us more about the Illinois budget that does not exist to balance out the States load of debt so they can invest in the State Parks and keep them safe for recreational activities ... The budget that was passed was not a balanced budget and in fact was up side down by over 10.2 Billion dollars ... Personally, I think you should be banned because you add nothing of value to this site, but that is not my call ... If you do not answer the questions I posed to you I will try diligently to get you banned, that is a PROMISE ... Then you can go back to the Kiddie pool and play ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

To the Top for WPT and his research. Did anyone else notice that in a related link spot it said "American Trapshooitng Association"? Who are they? WPT was that you or the state of Illinois' wording? I can understand if it was yours because having, like me having to type all that out, making a slip is easy, or was it a slip?

 

I thought AMERICAN was changed to AMATEUR way back around 1923 or so ?

1923 - American Trapshooting Association later became Amateur Trapshooting Association.
