Years ago I sold a Beretta barrel to a shooter from Mn. he told me he was going to the Grand. When I called hime to see how he made out, he told me" the temp under his truck was 115 he shot 25 targets and left Sparta" When we lived on our boat we were headed down the Missippi on our way back to Fl the temp was also 115 degrees , spent 15 minutes between the fly bridge and the air-conditioned salon-had to keep the generators running 24 hrs straight

The heat isn't the only weather that you have to watch out for at sparta. I remember at least one time, when torrential rainstorms and high winds tore thru the area. It made quite a mess.
One year when I was down there, it rained so much that the tent vendors were getting flooded out. The water was flowing south, over the sidewalk, and right into the tent vendors booths. They were putting down pallets, mulch, whatever they could get their hands on, to try to stay above the water...
