How often has someone claimed a Non-resident and Resident Title in the same state?

Congratulations Elana! With the question being asked the Name of George Snellenberger comes to mind. I believe it was seven different states that George won the resident state singles championship. Maybe Jackie could answer that for us?

Over the years George lived in many different states and I believe at one time he had won 7 different resident state 16yd titles all with 200 straights. I would almost bet that he also won the non resident title in some of those states. George lived in Ohio for two years and he won the resident state singles title both years and if my memory is correct he beat me in the shootoff both years. I don't know for sure whether he won any of these states non resident titles so that was the question I was asking in the above post and that's the reason I said maybe Jackie could tell us?

How often does someone move? I don’t really see this as an accomplishment. The bigger accomplishment would be to repeat it in the same state where the competition is the same.

Bluegill, George Snellenberger was only considered an Ohio resident for 2 years and he was the 16yd state champion both years. George lived where his employment took him. He was located in both Michigan and Indiana quite a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have multiple 16yd championships in both of these states, but I don't know for sure.

The info I see George had several Indiana Titles. 4-Singles, 2-Doubles and 6-HOA.

Dave, I wasn't dogging George at all, as I'm not dogging Elaina. He will always be a legend in the sport. I think the true accomplishment is the number of Championships anyone has won, not what their residency status is/was. I'm sure he would hold Champion status in any state he would have resided. I know there are many shooters who have won NR Championships. Does the fact that they didn't ever live in that state take away from their accomplishment and make someone else's more important because they moved?

Chances are low since they would have to move out of, or into the state. Liz Ternes did it several years ago.
