with the forearm off, should there be sideplay with the bbl on the receiver?
    yes/no.
if no, what is the fix?

There really shouldn't be. While there are several potential causes for side play between the barrels and receiver. If it's occurring on a gun that was previously tight, then the most common would be wear on the hinge pins or mating surface of the mono block.

There were some other problems associated with the older lite weight receivers, hopefully you're not referring to one of those.

no, this one is a 4000 series dupont gun.
its odd. its ever so loose, then when you put the f.a. on, and lock it up, the gun feels like its a brand new gun tight as a vault door, requiring a strong arm to break it open.
the weird part on mine is....take off the f.a.......and the slide slop is gone. it only happens when putting the bbls on first time out of the case.
ok, hinge pins mono block. first aim will be hinge pins.
    thanks ic'.
its been a while. i forgot!

I had the same situation on a 32. KI fitted barrel. Shot if for years with no issues.
