Anyone here have a 12ga 3/4oz load they have had good results with? I do have one that I currently loading in AA hulls, but wanted to see if anyone else has worked one up.

After burning through a bunch of components and a lot of trial and error, this is the load I settled on. It cycles in my semi-autos (with a lightened load kit) and is a dream in my O/U.

    The Recipe:

Hull- Federal Gold Medal (the paper-base version, not the plastic stump)

    Primer- Fiocchi 616

Powder- 17.2 grains of Alliant Clay Dot

Wad- CB 1100-12 (the little grey one)

Shot- 3/4 oz (that's 328 grains if you're weighing it) of Hard 8.5 or 9s

The one in the bag of the pink winchester replacement claybuster wads worked for me, I think I used extra lite powder. Didn't work that well on the middle stations for skeet though. too short of a shot string im thinking.

If you also shoot and reload for 20 gauge, then 3/4oz 20’s are the way to go. Less powder, better patterns and longer shot strings.

Keep playing with the AA hulls if that's what you have. Try the CB1100-12 wad and a fast powder like Clays or Red Dot. Start around 14.5 grains and work up watching for pressure signs. You'll find a sweet spot where the gun cycles (if it's a semi-auto) and the patterns are tight.
