Subjective OSTA HOF By Laws Change for Morality Post Induction

Another very troubling part of trying to change our OSTA HOF is that recently the committee has added a new paragraph to the HOF by laws which in part states that after induction you as an enshrinee must live your life in a certain manner or you can be removed.

Why? after induction the enshrinee's are forever guaranteed to be in the HOF. Who will be the policeman? If the policeman doesn't like you, you better watch your step or you will be given the thumb. This is not the way Sport HOF's were founded or intended to operate. They came to be to reward a persons career achievement in their sport, nothing more, nothing less and the wording was chosen to guarantee that after enshrinement their attainment to a position in a HOF would be sealed and never be challenged. If these guidelines are adhered to this by laws change means nothing. If tradition is not followed all of our HOF certificates are a fraud (worthless). Also how is it possible for such a small group to basically change and completely disrupt our HOF? Shouldn't there be a set of rules to follow to make a by laws change?

Many institutions have provisions for the disqualification/dismissal/removal of persons guilty of moral turpitude. My personal opinion is that much more weight should be given to one's character and personal integrity in all HOF selections, and every HOF should have a moral turpitude provision.

If the HOF checks a nominee and reject them for personal actions, OK , but do not expect to remove anyone after the fact, for their after induction actions.

Phil Kiner told me a couple of years ago Bradford and Gipson were trying to find a way to throw me out of the Trapshooting HOF. So it hs been thought about, but then I'm not dead and able to fight back.

 

Brad, Both of the gentlemen you mentioned should be investigated for the handling of the H.O.F. Funding. It is a cheap building at a very high price that they built for the state of Illinois. They fit right in with the state of Illinois political agenda. Roger C.

 

First of all my spell check is broken so if you don't like misspelled words remember I'm a trap shooter and not an English teacher. I do have a rudamentary knowledge of the printed word but not enough to make an English prof. Saying that I can see that even a rudamentary knowledge of trap shooting or trap shooting history isn't needed to be a trap shooting expert in the eyes of the on line crowd, or that matter the u-tube experts. There has to be 400 trap experts on you tube and 395 of them I never met at a shoot off or even know who they are.

But this isn't what I wanted to talk about. I'll give some back story to my post for Roger. Phil usually calls me right before or right after the Sparta Grand about something. Roger I know the Martins are your buddies but no way no how do I think they deserve to be in the Tarp Shooting HOF, they got in because they GAVE Bradford, Gipson, and the HOF board a lot of money and bailed Bradford and the EC's out by paying for the cow barn that is the current HOF.

I've said all this before and I stand by it. In fact I never remove a post, if I post it I want it to stay up. Free speech means free speach to me. I don't care what you call me but have the guts to tell me to my face, anyhow Kiner called me to tell me that they were trying to figure out away to throw me out of the cow barn. Phil was concerned and I was touched by that but I told him what I thought and laughed about it.

You see in 2000 when I got into the club it was a big deal to me but looking in the rear view mirror not so much anymore. Roger you need to admit it to youself like I have that the ATA and even the OSTA ain't run by many shooters with a historical knowledge of Trap Shooting, but I guess at least their spell checks work.

 

Brad, I am a friend of Bill Martins. Before he gave money to the HOF ripoff, he helped a lot of clubs in Calif. and Arizona. He has been used, the same as we all were. I do not think Bill did the things he did to be in the HOF. Knowing him, I don't think he gives a shit about being in the HOF. just my own opinion.

No where is removal mentioned nor is it meant to be. Please help keep our HOF as it was intended to be and in line with all the other sports HOF's.

Maybe the shooters should decline when told they are going in to the hof. It is no longer an honor to be in it. WHO, is going to set in judgement as to how they are to lead the rest of their lives????? It is no longer a H.O.F. it is a position that is subjective to the whims of a board, that can not be good. As this discussion go's on it comes to the forefront that this is not really about who was removed, or why they were removed as it is about retaining the integrity of our HOF and being able to keep it as a shrine and not allowing it to becoming nothing more than a (good old boys club). If this bylaws change is allowed to stay the question becomes who will be making the decisions as to who has good morals and who doesn't and where will the lines be drawn? Our HOF didn't come in to being to ebb and flow as committees change with a committee a few years down the road destroying what a previous deemed to Forever Enshrine just because their feelings on morality are not compatible with a former committee, Please take into consideration the wording that was put onto the HOF certificate's and why it was put there this over reach needs to be stopped now and this by laws change must be removed if we are to actually have a true HOF.

Instead of changing the bylaws to remove a dead man from the HOF I think the current OSTA borad would be a lot better off spending their time thinking about how and working on getting trap help at the CC that 1 Can count, 2 can add, 3 know the rules, 4 keep the trap loaded, 5 think for themselves that a 25 bird event cannot have a score of 28. These are all things that I was told happened at the Buckeye.

I saw all of this last year when I was the sub TD for the Buckeye and the Cardinal Classic. The CC today has discount and incompatant help at "best club in the world prices" it doesn't pass the smell test.

The people to talk to is the Foundation. This is a slippery slope. The minutes do not seem to show this was voted on appropriately. At least that is how I read the minutes. Pay attention to whether the minutes get changed or check to see if there is another vote.

People that belong to the OSTA Foundation have no rights to make any changes to the OSTA HOF Name Changes. Any one trying to do this must be Removed from the OSTA HOF membership Immediately, and their Names Posted on a Special List Of Special Notice of their Immeadite Removal. Doing this Action W/O Approval of the OSTA Membership, Randy's wife/ex-wife caused all this problem and tried to Steel Propane From his Parents w/o authority in a nutshell, Randy Wilhelm earned the HOF Position Rightfully. What happened by the Police should never have happened in the first place. Randy's Wife/ex-wife caused the problems.

This whole problem was articulated by a woman and the Police Department, Sherriffs Dept. She was a Bitch of a wife. I knew her.

 

Put the pressure on the lying members of the H.O.F. board. List their names so all shooters know who they are. That should be no problem as they are on a public and this would be no privacy issue. Roger c.

Shot with Randy for about 8 years prior to 2020 throughout the Great Lakes region. More than likely Randy was fighting a case he was never going to win; going off the amount of continuances filed, lawyers changed, extra charges sought by the state and etc. Honestly would’ve been better off showing up to court, doing his 2-3 months and still been alive to this day. And technically they’re still married Doc. Wilhelm Bottled Gas was sold off and who knows where all of the guns, money, cars, motorcycles, shells and lord knows what else wound up.

You may question how I know Randy, but over the years was close enough to call a friend and even showed up to my wedding.

 

I remember meeting Randy on the practice trap lots of times. He was always friendly and his dad was always there watching him shoot. He was always friendly and his dad remembered I was from Canada. They both would go out of their way to shake hands and welcome me to the shoot. I don't think that ever changed in his shooting years.

 

Im sorry for the loss of your friend. He would still be alive today if he wouid not of tried to kill a police officer,FBI agent or bail bondsmen. Not sure which one he tried to kill.Lets say he was a better shot that day and actually killed one of those officers. should he had been removed from the HOF then?

he wasn't convicted of trying to kill anyone. Which is it? He was on his own property. And if he was, he would still be in the HOF for trapshooting. That is what forever enshrined means.

 

This whole story reminds me of the FBI and Ruby Ridge Seige. Except the wife caused all the crap.

 

Brad----- what is wrong with a score of 28. I this that is reasonable for us older folks. As far as counting --some of the scorers don't even know that it is a game of 25 and try to count up from one instead of subtracting from 28---wait I mean 26-- WAIT wrong again I really mean 25

 

target manager - Dave told me that he got a 50 on one trap, I think the singles but might have been the caps. He still lost that event he said.

 

I still don't see how I could have possibly lost, but they never notified me that I had won. It was a handicap event and the 50 on one trap would have made my total on the 100 target event a total of 116. Surely that should have been enough to win, but I guess the scores now a days are getting astronomical.

Dave, I had 117 to nip ya by one. I used that new WV method where you don’t actually shoot you just pick a score and turn it in. Glad I waited to submit my score until after the event was over otherwise I might not have spotted your 116.

 

WV doesn't have a monopoly on creative scoring. We've done quite well in PA at one time.

 

Lies, corruption, and cover ups. The legacy left by the leadership of last years board. They, maybe it was unwittingly, but they tried to rip the heart and soul from our HOF. This needs to be corrected now and a travesty like this must never happen again. At the time of induction the person becomes part of the sports history and no board or selection committee has any right to alter the sports history

Just couldn't help myself Frogly.LOL Really as I stated above I was hoping that things would get back to a more even keel this new target year, but it appears that things are picking up speed going down the slippery slope. Rules and guidelines were put in place for our organization to operate by and under, but it seems like some of our leaders pay no attention to anything except their own whims. I respectfully responded to this post yesterday but it looks like i was CANCELED so i will try again.

In the last couple of months i have shot at Williams county, Newport, Middletown.and Harrison gun clubs. All of these shoots were well attended. Good times were had by all, and never herd anyone talk about this, not once. At the clubs, actually shooting things are on an even keel.

Just asking, why hasn't Randy Wilhelm's picture been put back up on the wall? After all he was Forever Enshrined just like everyone else who have their picture on the wall. Anything that happens after the point of induction has no impact, nor should it have any impact on anyone who has been duly inducted and forever enshrined. Please see the truth and do it soon!!! Our HOF shouldn't have to suffer to the whims of a few.

The OSTA may be expected to remove live bird shooters from the HOF.

 

You must remember Randy was inducted and Forever Enshrined in the HOF for his trapshooting accomplishments and what happened later should have absolutely nothing to do with his status in the HOF.
