Hi Gang Family Guy here will be taking pictures, chatting, and mixing with friends. Of course taking pictures. Just arrived in time for a meal at the pavilion. Will have a pulled pork sandwich and diet coke. Looks like a decent lunch crowd for a preliminary day.
I really wanted to make the trip out to see friends and attend the Hall of Fame ceremony but the thought of an 8+ hour drive alone just kept me from making a reservation. Also is the fact that my desire to get back to the shooting game has not returned yet. Thanks Family Guy for taking time to take and upload the great pictures. I truly appreciate it as I'm sure others do. Please say hello to all the members of AT.Com. I'll be wearing my shirt here in New Jersey. Shoot well and Enjoy Our History, HistoryBuff
Sure right to the Chow line first off ... Man, you know how to hurt a guy ... Great pictures ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
In the first picture the guy standing in line with the red, white, and blue hat is a past Ohio State Shoot Handicap winner.
I took a picture of a really tall person. I was hoping I could call it an official "Big Don Sighting." The picture was blurred and grainy. You guys would have called me a liar and said it was big foot so I am not going to post it. Can't find Coveleskie. He must see me first. Sat beside RJ Stuart for lunch and saw my hero Dave Berlet. Life doesn't get any better.
1st picture, guy w/back to camera, Red Shirt, White shorts is Mark Hawkins the handicap shooter. The guy next to him loading up sandwich looks like Danny Wilson from Johnstown Ohio GB DLS
Call me a liar if you don't be leave me but I talked to big don at 230 at the entry building( he is real)!
I was surprised to see Guns Unlimited on the grounds. They will be located in one of the new buildings.
Looking at the two state shoots this week it looks like Ohio is in good shape attendance wise and California is down once again. It seems trapshooting is holding its own in Ohio, Pa. and the Midwest while other areas are slipping. Hope I'm wrong.
I will be at the Ohio State Shoot at Cardinal Today, arriving at 10:45 will be in the food Pavillion in my wheelchair, just need somebody to unload the wheelchair. Hoping to meet more friendstoday, I talked to Big Don at Roger Brenners after getting some shot and powder, he just bought a Silver Seitz, I told him you will really like it, and to keep shooting well, He asked how I was doing and when I would get my Prosthesis, I thanked him and told him to keep up the good shooting. Big Don loves the game, he is a real competitor. Here's hoping he brings a few trinkets back to Michigan.
The breakfast of trap shooters. An 8 Sisters cream stick. This one has strawberry cheesecake filling.
Don't have my reading glasses is that the Doc or Neil wearing a Longshot T-Shirt? Appears to be a quite knowledgeable individual but then again looking without glasses.
Really nice pictures, thank you for taking the time and effort to post them for all to see ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
Thanks for the great pics ,,, keep snapping them all day long for those of us that can,t be there . Thank you JDHOG
Keep posting pictures could not be there today, nobody to load my wheelchair. You have been posting some very nice pictures, keep up the good work. Post a picture of Jacks, Karen Memorial,to his Wife, I think others would like to see it. Gary Bryant Dr.longshot
I would like to have a Memorial for my ex wife, she isn't gone yet but one of these days ... Dandilions and crab grass would do it ... I have seen or talked to her in over 30 years and she still blames me for all that is wrong in her life, that includes the time since we split ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
For those of you that could not make the trip---one of the 8 Sisters is pregnant! Yeppers.....you heard it hear first. We want to be the first to give you the information you need. I am hoping the celebration will begin with extra icing on the cream sticks.
Rain and strong wind on my squad this morning. Shared a post with a frog. I politely moved to the left. The great ones like Berlet can shoot 'em in any weather. Dave shot 100.
Nice Picture of my friend Ron Smith Sr. we go back a lot of years, and his son is following his terrific shooting foot steps, I heard he broke 200 in that nasty weather. Terrific shooting. GB DLS
Roger Covelski and I were drinking a cup of coffee and he saw a Crane w/platform elevated and said there is Joe taking pics, come to find out Joe is afraid of heights. Those elevated pics are nice. Even with all the Bad Weather Ohio State Shoot had a big turnout, I need to see the RJ Stuart #s. Gary Bryant Dr.longshot
Joe could not be at Cardinal Sunday due to pain from needing a Hip Replacement, so he could not take any more Pics. Get well Joe, We will miss your fantastic pictures. Gary Bryant Dr.longshot
My ex actually did try to kill me, that was it ... I stayed single for a long time after that one ... I wish her no harm but I would glad throw the first shovel of dirt on her casket, then water it for her, being the nice guy that I am ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
The Cold Rain took it's toll on the Attendance from last year, down 23% thru Saturday, Tuesdays total was up, during good weather. Saturday's 200 singles was subjected to Winds and Cold rain, most shooters were wearing cold weather shooting gear. Looks like only 2- 200s were broke, correct me if I am wrong, I do make mistakes. Weather was Hell for this time of year. I had car A/C on early in week, to needing heater on in Car. That Red Sweat Shirt was not enough Saturday, I talked to Richie, Silver Seitz sales were up, early in the week, He really knows his Silver Seitz's, Fantastic gun smith. Gary Bryant Dr.longshot
Today being Sunday it is 57 degrees, windy, blustery, w/possible rain again. Cloudy and overcast. Those Fishburn Burgers, made from his Cattle are the best, they are at leas 1/3 pound Patties, very thick and juicy. They need more Mayonaise dispensers, or refilled more frequently, very nice ripe Tomato slices. Grill guy is cooking 24 burgers at a time, lot's of smoke from the Grill. Chickken sandwiches selling fast, I did notice that the Chicken Noodle Bowls being smaller, object to $4.00 for the small bowls, I love that Chicken Noodle Soup but would not pay that price this year, bowl is too small, that was my only objection. Kitchen Staff was Superb. GB DLS
This guy (mack) was getting grouchy as I was holding the treat until he smiled. Not much of a smile there.
