BT-99 Serial number

    I have an older BT with a serial # 57P27670 I can't find out the year made. Does anyone know the year that this one was made. 34" w/ejector. stamped *- Thanks in advance, Bob

    First two digits are the year. So.....57 is the year, seems some guns had the digits reversed some years meaning the gun was made in 1975. It surely wasn't made in 57 as 69 was the first year.

    I agree with ebsurveyor.

    Your serial # 27670 identifies your Browning as the 27,670th gun made.

    57 identifies the year of manufacture as 1975.

    D was the letter used to signify it was a model BT-99.

    That's my guess.
