Monica Brackman is out as the WSRC Director. Monica Brackman has not been rehired as the Director. I do not have the reason.

Who wanted Monica out? Or was this her decision?

More likely, it's an Illinois thing. Rats jumping ship. In the old days, Captains went down with their ships. Yuppies don't believe in that sort of foolishness.

With dwindling resources exacerbated by fiscal irresponsibility, WSRC payroll will face continuing pressures. Monica was a BIG paycheck. A dump like WSRC doesn't need anybody but an unskilled part-timer to run the place.

It won't be long before WPT will have this little Monica matter researched and explained.

ATA will be at WSRC as long as Illinois says so. If Illinois shits the bed, ATA will be homeless. And the Livery Stable will finally be in the hands of its rightful owner.

 

Monica has not been at the WSRC since September.... Where have your men in the ditches been???? That is old news and as for the reason, well, I'll let your men in the ditches find that out for themselves. Granted, that is not very difficult information to find.

Also, they have been operating without a full time trap manager since April.... Is this breaking news also??? (Mind Blown)

My guys in the ditches have reports of who may be the next hire for each position, but I'll let you know when my guys get back to me...

Golly, I'm starting to worry about these "Pals in the trenches[ditches]." I thought they'd know all about the meeting...and the vote.

 

I quit bothering with the State of Illinois when they pass a Budget that carries a 50 million dollar over ride so you have to conclude there will be no money for Infrastructure such as State Parks and Recreation Areas, IDNR has had its budget cut to shreds and the State is still going down like the Titanic from a financial stand point ... I did not know nor did I care that Monica Brackman was let go, but it really does not matter being as she was not the anchor that keeps that place intact and operational ... I have not ventured over to the State of Illinois web site in at least a month because it seems the only thing that happens in the State is a continuation of more problems, set backs and increases in taxes ... It is pretty much like reading the Obit without the final date carved into the Head Stone yet ,.. WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

If anybody even remotely gives a poop about what is going on with WSRC, just give them a call. When you get the recording, pick one of the 7 options, probably Option 7, and leave a message. If they don't return your call, call IDNR.

As of December 4, 2019, WSRC was not on the State Parks Closures List published by IDNR. The list is regularly updated.

 

Wayne Botts has one post and a "I don't want you to know where I'm from" message when you try to see that so I doubt if you will hear any more from him. Probable a skeet or sporting shooter, not a thing wrong with that, because I don't see where he shot any "registered" targets. Not that that matters much anymore either. There are thousands of people that don't bother with the ata.

Thanks for that little tidbit. I didn't know they didn't have someone doing that job. Trap shooting must be real high on their list huh? LOL

What's really "mind blowing" is that the place is still open at all. After EVERY year being a bust I would have thought they would have pulled the pin on that outpost.

I believe the Phantom got back with WHY she was let go so that takes care of that.

I talked to CC today, no news about the CC offer for the grand. Wayne do you know? Any vote? Any presentation?

 

Sporting Clays and Berm manager are still in place, both are very good at what they do. Sporting clays is always busy, berm is busy with events just about every weekend. Trap Manager will be filled soon I hear. Still open for public shooting Thursday through Sunday and they currently have a small winter league going. Haven't heard much on a director. I know it was on the states site to be applied for.

 

Below pictured is Monica with SCTP Director Tom Wonrash. Picture taken at the Cardinal Center. Monica’s job was to lure/keep the SCTP at Sparta. Fail. They even offered free targets. No takers. Even at free Sparta was a bad deal.

I think the ATA and WSRC owe Monica. When they can’t give the place away how could she accomplish any more.

Does that mean ATA Director and his business are gone too, That would be good news a savings of$200,000 to the ATA a well overpaid position, I can replace him for $50,000 and an on site place to stay. what a bargain.

Well hell, Things discussed at the meetings MAY make it into the minutes, BUT NOT always the correct information.

NO Way. Monica was there because the SCTP was at the Cardinal Center. Monica was begging Mr. Wonrash to bring the kids back to Sparta.

I doubt that will happen in my lifetime. It is the industry that pushed the decision to stay at the CC. For at least a decade!

When her sales pitch didn't work they offered free targets. Still a bad deal.
