While it currently only involves the Chicago schools, Gov. Rauner has said he would support efforts to allow the school district to declare bankruptcy to get rid of debt. Don't be surprised if this type of thinking works its way to the state level. Anything negotiated with Illinois would appear to be worthless in the long run.
The principles on both sides can't even agree on a date to have an open discussion on the budget, that probably means they will not agree on any budget either ... The State is 1.6 BILLION in the rears on payments for State workers health and welfare ... 100,000 people have left the State as in relocated, not the ATA though ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
The Democrats think the "well" is bottomless so they legislate more and more giveaway programs. Until that can be contained Illinois will be in the same boat again even if they did claim bankruptcy. Unfortunately this same problem exists throughout the whole country on a scale that is catching up with Illinois.
Not! The rest of the country does not have Illinois problems. My state has been having balanced budgets.
Debt free? I think not. Run your household finances like "your state" and see where that gets you in life. Their balanced budget will catch up to them.
Leonidas....so you change your argument now and again have to walk it back. My state is not catching up with Illinois. My state is doing better than 8 years ago. Another of your silly statements has nothing to do with my household . Your statement is the whole country has Illinois' problem. Again.....my state is not acting like Illinois. Keep your love affair with the gun hate state confined to the gun hate state.. My state did not break a lease with the ATA. My state is not bankrupt. I cant remember the last time a governor from my state went to jail (if ever). My state is not a gun hate state. Good luck with that Illinois love affair.
If your state isn't downsizing it's DEBT it is acting like Illinois. What the hell does the ATA have to do with this topic?? Can't you stay on topic?
Leonidas you might want to start catching up on the news. No state is as bad off as Illinois. Its neighbors Indiana and Ohio have both been run very well financially since the Republican Govs took over. I try to follow your thought process but you're like a fart in a windstorm.
Arizona had an 800 million surplus, they are trying to figure a way to spend it that makes sense ... This ought to be good ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

The numbers are very interesting especially since AZ Gov D. Ducey claimed a surplus of 800 Million, so something is out of kilter someplace .... Will be checking into that for sure, my Taxes dropped considerably on my house so thats a good thing any way ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
