Gipson's remarks to a local paper seemed to imply that they have the $2.1 million dollar HOF building on their mind. The building was built with ATA monies and HOF monies but neither organization owns the building. While first talking about the grand Gipson continued, "We're going to preserve what we built here."
ATA monies? It's my understanding that all the money for the HOF is donated and none comes from the ATA. Do you have a source for the ATA claim?
Only the ATA minutes and a forum that is full of discussions about the money given to the Illinois owned HOF building. Leonidas....do you mean other than that? What other source would you want? And also, I did not say ATA. Lynn Gipson is listed as a HOF trustee. Do you need another source other than the HOF site itself?
Leonidas wants the source. Evidently the ATA is not a good enough source nor is the HOF website. In my opinion Gipson has a major conflict of interest displayed here. He wants the ATA to be close to a building that his org which he is a trustee to invested 2 million on a building they don't own. Yet he represents another org that may have a conflicting need. Not that there is a delegate out there that cares.
Leonidas, Take off your rose colored glasses. The ATA blundered into a political machine in the state of Ill. that they were no capable of dealing with. The sooner they realize this and exit the mess, the sooner the organization will be set on a better path. A mistake was made. Rectify it by correcting the mistake not by compounding it. The first move must be admitting if only to them selves, that a mistake was made, and move to the correction phase. Roger C.
