    I shoot a 30" fixed rib K 80 Parcours with a # 3 sporting stock with an Isis recoil system-for sporting ,
no washers in comb, for trap , I add 1/8" washers

My other guns had adjustable everything, best friend is red loctite

You gave a great set up. I have the 30" pro sporter for skeet and sporting with Kolar AAA sub gauge tubes. Weight in stock. Perfect balance.

fixed low rib...on a gun fitted to me.
adjustables have too many chances to be tempted to compensate for mistakes, instead of correcting the human error.
    imo.

the term in rifle/pistol shooting is...chasing dope. with everything adjustable these days, its a setup to chase dope with shotgunning.

My pro sporter has the wedge system the end of the bbl. The never version has the wheel. I set mine once and never made an adjustment. Been 12 years now.

as long as you adjust it and forget it, youre ok....but i can tell ya a lot of shooters never give up.
i like the idea of taking away the temptation!

Mine is set...never have to adjust anything. The wedge is hard to swap out, compared to the ease of the spinning the wheel.

i never could understand how an adjustable rib could be used in s.clays. there are so many different presentations, how can a shooter use a rib set for rising birds then adjust for a rabbit?
i would think a plain ole field grade gun WITHOUT a rib, would be the best choice? you know, back in the day when hunters adjusted to the gun, pressed or lifted their cheeks as needed, instead of making guns adjust to the shooter. (old school seems to be a the better choice.)

Some like a 60/40 poi with stacked beads. The Adj rib and adj comb allows you to have the figure 8 with mid and front beads. Shooting styles have changed over the years. You can shoot a fully mounted gun at sporting clays but not Fitasc.

In today's world 100/200 straights are required to be competitive for trap and skeet down to C class or even D. Sporting clays winners post scores in the high 90's on championship courses.

I wouldn't think consciously changing cheek to stock contact would not make for great scores for the professionals - and worse still for the amateurs.

Well said.... You have to be competitive when shooting registered competition. Some just do it for fun.... I have had many years of good times shooting with my friends....also met many wonderful people all around the country. I still shoot registered trap and skeet. I travel to some trap shoots but only shoot skeet tournaments mainly in my state.
I throw in a good score once and awhile, but since I don't practice much, it shows. You have to practice! Let's see what 2026 brings!
