Would like opinions on an episode that happened to me yesterday. A new member sent me a pm Regarding a posting looking for a stock lock for a KX6 special. When I contacted him, I couldn't understand a thing he said, so he texted me and said it was bad reception. I think it was bad English. He sent me pictures of a stock for $1700.00 that he said he bought new and used for roughly six months. I done some research and found the same pictures on the other forum that the stock sold January 2020. I asked him about it and he said it was a coincidence.??? I had him send me more pictures and offered him $1200 that he accepted. He sent pictures that had been photoshopped and mirrored from the original ones on a different background. Pretty easy to tell, left side of original was exactly the same as right side of the new ones. No cut out of the comb or screw holes for the comb. Called him out on it and now he hasn't responded back. I would like to get ahold of the person that bought it on the other forum, but I don't have enough posts. Would like opinions on this. I don't want to see anybody get suckered by him if he isn't legit, but don't want to ruin him if he is and I'm just over reacting.
Do not walk away but run . Call Pat McCarthy and inquire about the stock. He keeps good records. 1-330-833-0014 Roger C.
Seeing the pics on another forum's classified post alone isn't too bad (I sometimes post things in multiple places). But combined with everything else, it sounds shady. I'd recommend asking him to facetime showing the stock; that way, you can see video of it in real-time.
You know it's not legit. You can just not talk to this guy OR, what I would do is string him along for as long as you want. I can think of a dozen things I would have him do before he realized you were jerking him around. Just sayin....
I played the game for awhile until I finally got tired of it and let him know that I knew what he was doing. He denied everything and tried turning it into me being a pain and not a serious buyer. I had to laugh a little.
I would like to see the ad ( I know we can't show it) so I could tell him I was interested. PM me his email,
It takes all kinds. One of the times I thought I was done I sold my TM1 to a guy at a gun show. Every show for the next 2 years he had it on his table. The last time he had it I asked if I could pick it up and look at it. He says, Sure, go ahead. That was my Dad’s gun and he doesn’t shoot any more so he asked me to sell it. I just smiled and stared at him. Then the lightbulb lit up and he realized it was me, the person he bought it from. After some lame story about how he knew it was mine all along and was just kidding me I told him it was guys like him that gave dealers at shows a bad reputation. He was redder that a hot pepper when I busted him. I also made sure there was a crowd around his table when I told him it was mine and he bought it from me 2 years ago. It takes all kinds
Add the user “wembley” to the list of scammers. Doesn’t have half a clue about trap guns and posses rather poor photoshop skills.
